In episode 28 of the Bible Unmasked, Pastor Gervon Marsh and Cassandra Pierre discuss Proverbs 15 to Ecclesiastes 4. Both Proverbs and Ecclesiastes are books of wisdom.

Date: July 11, 2021

Questions in this episode Who was Asaph? Can we substitute music for prayer in our worship services and Christian lives? Can you please provide the historical context in which the book of Proverbs was written? Who wrote it? Does it only have one author? The book of Proverbs seems to provide advice. How should we interpret these biblical proverbs? Are they mere advice that we may choose to follow or commands that are tied to our salvation?

Salomon seems to be addressing his son specifically in this passage and others. Is he really addressing his son, or it just a writing style? If he’s only addressing his son, does the passage apply to all of us? Chapter 7 speaks against adultery but puts the blame on women only. Why? Aren’t both the man and woman sinners and equally responsible in an adulterous relationship?
