Theme: Sin is a violation of God's law that requires the payment of one's life. Christ Jesus took upon himself our sins and paid it price with his life to satisfy the demands of God's justice. The Day of Atonement (the day of judgment) is not an ancient Israelite ritual but for all humanity. Christ Jesus has made propitiation by his blood for all who will confess and repent of their sins. Their sins will be blotted and their names written in the Book of Life.
